Guidance on common problems in transportation under epidemic situation

Published by February 12,2020

1. Confirm with the consignor whether the consignee can receive the goods normally, and it is better to confirm whether the relevant inspection and quarantine work needs to be carried out in China before shipment, and which certificates issued by inspection institutions can be recognized.

2. It is suggested to pacify the consignor and inform the consignor that the expenses incurred in case of no delivery shall be borne by the consignor in the form of notice letter. If necessary, collect the letter of guarantee. If the value of the goods is large or the number of containers is large, the shipper can be required to issue the letter of guarantee. Please contact the risk control team of LOCC for the letter of notice and model letter of guarantee to obtain the letter of guarantee from the consignor. The letter of guarantee is more effective than the letter of notice.

3. In view of the current epidemic situation and different measures taken by various countries for China's export goods, it is recommended to pay close attention to whether the customs of various countries have special or new regulations or requirements for China's export goods, and to confirm the situation with your agents at the destination port in a timely manner.

4. The ship / airline company may issue some new requirements for the epidemic, which may also involve fines, etc. it also needs to pay attention to and inform the shipper of relevant requirements in real time.

5. In the case of LCL, special care shall be taken to avoid the return of the whole box of goods due to the unqualified individual goods.
