Nansha Port Builds the First Automated terminal in Greater Bay Area

On September 25th, the signing ceremony of the Smart Port Innovation and Development Forum with the theme of “Innovation Leading • Creating a New Benchmark for Automated Terminals” and the Purchasing Project of Container Automated Terminal Handling System for the Fourth Phase of Guangzhou Port Nansha Port Area was held at the Guangzhou Port Center.

 

As the first automated terminal in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Guangzhou Port teamed up with Zhenhua Heavy to develop the world's first “single car automated shore bridge, unmanned IGV, horizontal layout side loading and unloading for Nansha Phase IV fully automated terminal. The “Nansha Phase IV Automated Terminal Solution” fully automated in the port area adopts a large number of targeted and innovative designs to integrate advanced technologies such as IoT perception, big data analysis and artificial intelligence into the program to help Guangzhou Port Nansha Port. The district creates a smart, environmentally friendly and economical fully automated terminal. The project is further bold innovation and experiment in equipment and loading and unloading technology. It can be said that the whole project construction will play an important role in promoting the development of China and even the global automated terminal.

The fourth phase project of Guangzhou Port Nansha Port Area is a key construction project in Guangdong Province and Guangzhou City. It is planned to build two 100,000-ton and two 50,000-ton container berths and 12 container barges. The engineering design annual capacity is 490. 10,000 standard box, the planned construction period is 2018-2021. The project creatively adopts the unmanned IGV of Beidouwei navigation system, laser radar SLAM, visual SLAM and multi-sensor fusion positioning technology as the horizontal transportation equipment, which makes the automated terminal more intelligent and provides a new technical route for the new automated terminal in the future. From the existing automated terminal, Nansha Phase IV will be the most technologically advanced automated terminal in the world.
