latest news! There is a new rule in India: when exporting to an Indian port, the zip code of the shipper, consignee and notify party must be submitted and the value of the goods must be provided in the manifest data.

The latest rule stipulate that all cargo arriving at Indian ports must contain IEC, GSTIN, PAN, 6-bit HS codes and value of cargo in the manifest; modification, renewal of bills of lading or port change must be made 72 hours before arrival at the last foreign port of call in India, otherwise customs fines or penalties will be imposed.

India, custom

Indian Customs requires arrival manifests to be sent 72 hours before the ship leaves the last foreign port of call before arriving in India. After the bill of lading is sent, if the change of bill of lading is proposed, the content of the change of bill of lading can be modified only with the approval of the customs, and there will be a customs penalty. If the customer needs to change the bill of lading, he must complete the change 72 hours before the ship leaves the last foreign port of call before arriving in India. Otherwise, the change of arrival manifest is subject to Customs approval before it can be amended, and there will be a Customs fine. Customers who need to change their port must submit the change 72 hours before the ship leaves the last foreign port of call before arriving in India. Subsequent applications may lead to inconsistencies between the bill of lading and the import manifest, which may result in customs penalties and fines.

After implementing new rule in India, all transportation companies must apply for customs manifests simultaneously in accordance with current rule.
