OCEAN FREIGHT CLIMBS TO HIGH POINT FOR VESSEL WITHDRAWING ON TRANSPACIFIC TRADE

Ocean freight climbs to highest point in year 2020 on the tradelade from China to USA, due to many vessel/service withdrew in May and June. The ocean freight used to be very soft in the past FEB/MARCH due to the corona virus, The lowest rate can be USD1200/Per FEU from YANTIAN to Los Angels port in FEB,Now the things changed .

For exmaple ,HONG KONG's Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) is withdrawing two sailings from transpacific services in May and June, the Pacific North West 2 (PNW2) and the Gulf Coast China 2 (GCC2) services.

Other carrier also cancel their service in May, maybe every week ,the space from YANTIAN to USA will be reduced 30% every week. Also according to OOCL line, Voided from Yantian on June 8 will be the Pacific North West 2 (PNW2) service, which rotates through Yantian, Xiamen, Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Seattle, Vancouver and Qingdao. 

Voided from Shanghai on June 7 and June 28 will be the Gulf Coast China 2 (GCC2) service rotating through Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Yantian, Houston, Mobile, Tampa and Shanghai. In mid of May, the ocean freight from YANTIAN to Los Angels already reach USD1600-1800 per FEUS with a lot of roll over are created.

Under such situation, we expect the ocean freight will be inreased again and reach USD2500 per FEU in the coming June.
