Singapore builds automated port with smart technology

Published by February 18,2020

Singapore guarantees the future development of its ports through automation, smart technology and energy efficiency. Singapore currently has five container terminals: Tanjong Pagar, Keppel, Brani, and Pasir Panjang Terminals 1 and 2. A new project is currently under construction in the city-state of Singapore: Tuas Port. Upon completion, Tuas Port will replace these ports and become the world's largest fully automated port.

The port will be gradually opened from 2021, when two berths will be put into operation. By 2027, container operations in Tanjong Pagar, Keppel and Brani will be transferred to Tuas Port. By the time the project is completed in 2040, Pasir Panjang's terminal business will also be transferred there
